Gold, Midas, Greed.

Does greed always overcome?

Greed is something that overcomes you without even realizing it. Most people become greedy for money, jobs, desires, and needs. I think that it depends on the person’s attitude and outlook on life.

In the myth Midas the king shows greed by asking Dionysus to grant him the power to turn everything to gold. In this situation greed over]comes king Midas. He does learn from his lesson in the end.

  1. This is very true however, if Midas were to look back, and reconsider his wish, he may have just simply "adjusted" his level of greed and would've altered his wish to turn only what he wanted to gold at his touch. He was very foolish in the firstplace and the myth simply wouldn't have been as effective as it was if he was smarter. In my opinion, greed does overcome always but in different aspects of your life. That can be greed for money, attention, happiness, etc. It is hard to find a time when you wished you could have just a little extra.
