A Proud Day

It was a proud day for Grandfather, Father, and Son.

"Now you'll see, if you care tio watch father now i'm fired up. Disgrace, you say?
I won't disgrace your line!"

Laertes called out in deep delight,
"What a day for me, dear gods! what joy-my son and my grandson vying over courage!"
Book 24, line564

  1. Family is the foundation of all societies, civilizations, and cultures. Fathers and sons are essential to carrying out traditions and the idea of living eternally through the continuation of a family name. Lessons learned will live on, similar to a soul, long after the death of a father. Odysseus teaches Telemachus the long-lasting lesson of courage, as Laertes taught Odysseus himself, and as Telemachus will soon teach his own sons.
